The surprisingly tasty flammkuchen

flammkuchen without meat

I’m a big fan of the German pizza style dish, flammkuchen. Normally the basic version comes with ham or bacon topping so I decided to test my big favorite Vivera plant bacon pieces as a replacement. I was not disappointed.

Style: vegetarian. Taste: 99/100. Serves 2.

Ingredients

  • ready to use flammkuchen dough
  • sour cream
  • 1 onion
  • Vivera plant bacon pieces
  • Extras: cherry tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, salt, pepper

How to make it

  1. Roll out the dough on an over plate. Spread sour cream on the dough like you would tomato puree on a pizza
  2. Fry the bacon bits separately, then sprinkle them on the dough together with onion slices. Add halved cherry tomatoes and sun dried tomatoes. Season with a bit of salt and pepper
  3. Bake in the oven as per instruction on the dough package, I did 15 mins at 200 C (390 F). Cut into squares and enjoy!
